1pm - 2pm Entrepreneurship 101 (The Hub). Pre-register on

What is entrepreneurship, and who is an entrepreneur? This powerful 50-minute session is open to any students who are passionate about taking charge of their future.
It might be surprising—and also inspiring—to learn that entrepreneurship is an emerging opportunity for many of us, whether or not we are prepared to start a brand new business. The real story of the entrepreneur lies in his or her spirit; a person who sees opportunities to create, and says, “I can do that; I will do that”, and does it. Whether we’re talking about a new business or the lean, flexible corporation of the future, the entrepreneur—as risk-taker, as leader, and as strategic doer—is creating our new economy.
Learn about our economy’s trends toward entrepreneurism and the personal characteristics that are driving many to create companies. Hear stories of how corporate entrepreneurs (‘intrapreneurs’) are re-shaping existing companies, preparing them to succeed amidst increasing competitive threats. See if you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur!
This session is co-presented by Prof. Bill McConkey and Prof. Chris Bovaird, Professors of Strategic Management with decades of experience in launching successful businesses and training UTSC’s most prolific entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs.

2pm - 5pm
Expo Fair (Atrium)

Students, alumni, faculty and staff who have taken their ideas to the next level will be on hand to talk about their business and how they achieved their goal. In addition, campus organizations and community/government agencies that support entrepreneurship though education, advising or funding, will be available to speak about their programs and services.

Networking Lounge (The Hub)
Engage with students and alumni and see the various ways "entrepreneurship" can take shape from concept to successful launch! Featuring Andrew Peek, a technology entrepreneur, start up investor and UTSC alumnus.
