UTSC management professor earns prestigious award for research paper

U of T Scarborough Management Professor April Franco

A research paper on employee mobility has earned UTSC management professor April Franco a prestigious award.

Franco received an Emerald Citations of Excellence for 2015 as a co-author on the paper "Who leaves, where to, and why worry Employee mobility, entrepreneurship and effects on source firm performance" that was published in Strategic Management Journal.

The paper focuses on how employees with higher earnings are less likely to leave their company compared to employees with lower earnings, but if they do, are more likely to create a new venture than join another firm.

The Emerald Citations of Excellence are giving annually to highly cited papers in the areas of business management, finance, accounting, economics and marketing. The award was given out at the Academy of Management Meetings in August.
