Community Safety on Campus

As this is the start of a new school year, we would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that community safety is very important at the University.  Everyone is encouraged to take precautions to promote personal and community safety, including the following:

  • Be alert when walking in the area or traveling to and from vehicles, parking lots and local transit stops
  •  Avoid walking, working or studying alone in isolated areas, particularly at night
  • Report any suspicious or unusual persons or activity on campus to University of Toronto Scarborough Community Police Services (416-287-7333) or Toronto Police Service (416-808-2222)

In addition to regular patrols by Campus Police Services, we have a number of programs and support services in place to help maintain a safe and secure environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors such as:

  • Community Safety Office (416-978-1485)
  • RideSafer (416-287-7576 during daytime hours / bus schedule posted in Student Centre outside of the SCSU office)
  • UTSC Patrol for campus escorts (416-287-7022)
  • Lone-Worker Program (416-287-7398)
  • Student Crime Stoppers (416-222-TIPS)
  • Emergency Telephones

Please visit www.utsc.utoronto.ca/communitypolice to familiarize yourself with all of our campus safety programs.
