2D or Not 2D features new work by 18 fourth-year Studio students who have developed their artistic practice in two-dimensional, three-dimensional, kinetic and time-based work over the past three years with the Arts, Culture and Media faculty. Generated over a two-month period, the work represents a culmination of rigorous research-based and material-based investigation. Two-dimensional procedures initiate a point of departure for these works, including: photography, drawing, mapping, notation, score and text. Initial proposals are developed through self-guided research and class critique with material tests and drafts directed at the creation of a final work.
