Principal's Research Award Lecture and Reception

As the recipient of the 2013 Principal’s Research Award, Dr. R. Michael Bagby will lecture at this annual event which aims to recognize and celebrate UTSC’s remarkable research culture.  Dr. Bagby’s research, in part, explores the phenomenon of alexithymia, the limited emotional awareness, restricted imagination, and externalized style of thinking that psychologists have long observed in some patients.

Dr. Bagby will discuss his exploration of the clinical and scientific investigation of alexithymia, from its initial observations from the psychoanalyst’s couch to recent findings in neuroimaging.

The lecture will be followed by a reception. All are invited to attend.
