Proposals for public art installation on display at the Doris McCarthy Gallery

A competition is underway to select which piece of public art will feature at the main pedestrian entrance of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.

A major piece of original public art is being commissioned for the main pedestrian entrance of the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.

Three final proposals, selected through a juried competition, are on display for public viewing from August 27th to September 6th at the University of Toronto Scarborough’s Doris McCarthy Gallery and at the main floor rotunda of Toronto City Hall. The public is encouraged to view the proposals and submit feedback to the selection committee.

A national Call to Artists for Expressions of Interest, posted in April, generated significant response.

UTSC and the City of Toronto will co-own the artwork, which will become a valuable addition to each partner’s art collections.
