Author Bio  

Shyam Selvadurai was born in 1965 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. His first novel, Funny Boy, was published to immediate acclaim in ‘94, was a national bestseller, and won the W. H. Smith/Books in Canada First Novel Award.  Cinnamon Gardens, his second novel, was short listed for the Trillium Award. Swimming in the Monsoon Sea was a finalist for the ‘05 Governor General’s Award for Literature and won the 2005 Young Adult Canadian Book Award sponsored by the Canadian Library Association (CLA).
