Connections forged at weekly Rendezvous

Faculty, staff, and grad students have been trading ideas over drinks and finger foods at The Rendezvous, UTSC’s new Friday afternoon get-together. It’s intended as a time to relax, chat, and maybe get a brainstorm or two.

“The Rendezvous is an opportunity to exchange ideas, devise initiatives, create plans and proposals, or simply unwind together in a relaxing social setting,” says Malcolm Campbell, vice-president, research. His office is sponsoring the get-together along with Retail & Conference Services.

Campbell expects The Rendezvous to help promote the research culture at UTSC by bringing together people from different disciplines who might not normally talk to each other, possibly resulting in new interdisciplinary work. But in the meantime it’s a time to relax and enjoy.

The Rendezvous is held Fridays in the Ralph Campbell Lounge from 3-7 pm. Popcorn, samosas, and other finger foods are available at no charge, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available at the bar.
