"Rhinoceros" continues its run at UTSC

The Theatre & Performance Studies (TAPS) Program at UTSC is pleased to present a second, 4-show run of Rhinoceros, the annual end-of-term theatre production starting senior TAPS students.

The production will run from March 21 – 24, 2012 at the fully accessible Leigha Lee Browne Theatre. The show begins at 8:00pm and doors will open at 7:30pm.

Written by playwright by Eugène Ionesco and translated by Martin Crimp, Rhinoceros has been directed by UTSC faculty member Amanda Lockitch.

The play is set in the streets of Toronto where rhinoceroses have taken over in an effort to bring the world back to its natural state. Berenger (Norie Nersisyan) notices that everyone around him is slowly transforming into rhinoceroses and giving in to the “call of the wild”, including his best friend, Jean (Zachary McKendrick), and love interest, Daisy (Renee Thurairatnam). Berenger soon becomes the last man standing. Will he fight for humanity or follow the herd?

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students/seniors, and $8 each for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available online at http://rhinoceros.eventbrite.ca or at the door.
