Good Night, and Good Luck chronicles the struggles between Edward R. Murrow and US Senator Joseph McCarthy

The Department of Humanities’ History on Film series is proud to present George Clooney's Oscar-nominated drama, Good Night, and Good Luck. on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 5:00 PM in SY-110.

Set against the backdrop of the early days of broadcast journalism in 1950s America, the film chronicles the real-life conflict between CBS' newsman Edward R. Murrow and Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee. Murrow and his dedicated news staff defy corporate and sponsorship pressures as they examine the lies and scaremongering tactics perpetrated by McCarthy during his communist 'witch-hunts'.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
