Submission deadline for upcoming research conference in the humanities

The third annual student research conference in the humanities at the University of Toronto Scarborough will focus on the topic of language.

The one-day conference is hosted by the department of English and humanities and will feature a roundtable discussion where students present their papers while faculty members serve as moderators. Students will then have 12 minutes to present their work followed by 5 minutes to answer questions.

Research-based papers, creative writing pieces, performance reviews, artistic performances and other non-traditional investigations of language are welcome.

To be eligible applicants need to be an active UTSC student and the paper needs to address the theme of the conference.

Deadline for submission is February 29, 2012. A cash prize of $400 for the best research-based paper will be awarded, while every participating student will receive a certificate as an undergraduate research scholar.
