World Rhythms: Performance Lecture Series, Liszt & Literature

 

Join us in AA303 on Monday, October 3 at 7:30PM for our first Performance Lecture Series, Liszt & Literature.

Featuring: Lenard Whiting (tenor) and Brett Kingsbury (pianist), along with Christina Kingsbury (narrator).

Franz Liszt was a 19th century pianist and composer. He was highly regarded for his exceptional musical performances and compositions. Further information.

  • Der Fischerknaben (poem by Friedrich Schiller)
  • Enfant, si j’étais roi (poem by Victor Hugo)
  • Die Drei Zigeuner (poem by Nicolaus Lenau)
  • Pace non trovo (Sonnet No. 104 by Francesco Petrarca)
  • I vidi in terra (Sonnet No. 123 by Francesco Petrarca)
  • Oh, quands je d’ors (poem by Victor Hugo)
  • Lenore, a melodrama with text by Gottfried August Bürger
  • Sonata in B
