Flare magazine names UTSC student as one to watch

Emily Hunter is a busy woman. The University of Toronto Scarborough journalism and anthropology major has been active in the environmental movement for almost a decade. When not in school, she works as an advocacy journalist and activist, hosting numerous TV documentaries for various networks including MTV. In the spring, she published her first book, The Next Eco-Warriors.

Later this year, the environmental activist is heading to Borneo to protect rainforest and orangutans.

Her leadership and environmental activism has not gone unnoticed, catching the eye of Flare magazine who selected Hunter as Generation Next: one of the top 14 Under-30 to watch in Canada.

She joins a list of impressive names like 20-year-old tennis player Milos Raonic, ranked as high as 25th in the world and 21-year-old actor Tyson Houseman of Twilight fame.
