DARE Art Exhibit

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

You are cordially invited to a unique art show in the UTSC Psychology departmental lounge (room: SW427A). All of the paintings and water colours that you will see are by young Burmese men and women (and girls and boys) who live in refugee camps in northern Thailand. Many of these young people have spent their entire life in these camps. The works on display are a small portion of the art produced for an annual competition that I have helped organize and is sponsored by a Canadian charity (Friends of DARE Network) working in those camps. Several members of our UTSC community have been patrons of this project and have helped purchase materials for these young artists. Although this is an exhibit and educational event, the art will be for sale. If you attend the exhibit, do not feel that you must buy anything.

The exhibit will be held in the Psychology Department lounge (room: SW427A) from Tuesday November 2nd at 1:30 until 4:45 Wednesday November 3rd. If you have any questions or should like further information, please contact me at or 416-287-7468.

I hope to see you there!
