U Serve 2006: Students volunteer for community service

On Friday, September 22nd, 2006, UTSC is organizing its first community service day for students. With your help, we hope to send out teams of students to various agencies in Scarborough to perform a day of volunteer service and offer support to several Scarborough area communities.

There are a diverse range of activities you may volunteer at including:

  • tree planting
  • being part of a renovation crew
  • organizing activities for children’s programs
  • serving meals in seniors’ homes.

We encourage you to get involved, regardless of your area of study. Service opportunities in the community offers an excellent opportunity to connect your academic activities with the social, political, and ethical issues of the communities around us.
