Liz Magor is a senior Canadian artist with an international reputation - she's represented Canada at the Venice Biennale and Documenta, received the Governor General's Award for Visual Arts and just recently won the Audain Prize for Lifetime Achievement in the Visual Arts. We're happy to be able to present her work here at the DMG.

Storage Facilities will run from September 16 to October 25, 2009. This series of recent sculptures - casts of clothing, cigarettes, liquor, candy, and the bodies of small animals - continues the artist's practice of investigation into issues of authenticity and representation, while suggesting social and environmental decay.

We'll be hosting Liz on Tuesday, September 29 from 5 - 9 pm for an artist's talk and public reception to celebrate the exhibition. She'll also deliver a lecture on Sunday, September 27 in the gallery, as part of the regular Contemporary Art Bus Tour series.
