The Doris McCarthy Gallery at U of T Scarborough presents a new exhibition, ImagiNation: New Cultural Topographies, featuring the work of five contemporary Canadian artists: Lucie Chan, Jamelie Hassan, Frank Shebageget, Henry Tsang, and Jin-me Yoon, who are exploring ideas around cultural identity. The opening reception will take place on Wednesday, January 14 from 5 to 9 p.m. The exhibition will run until March 1. At the opening reception, artist Lucie Chan and curator Caroline Vanderloo will be in attendance, giving a talk at 7 p.m. Another curator’s talk by Nicole Neufeld will take place in the gallery on Sunday, February 1 as part of the gallery’s collaborative Contemporary Art Bus Tour. As well, artist Jamilie Hassan will be on campus on Monday, February 9 to participate in a panel discussion with journalist Jeremy Copeland and UTSC’s own Silvia Naef and Tanya Mars.
