UTSC Day with The Toronto Marlies
This event is presented by the SCHPA (UTSC hockey players association) in partnership with the SCAA and SCSU, and with the support of the Department of Athletics and Recreation.
The SCHPA is a UTSC student club whose mandate is to bring students together through social and athletic events related to hockey. The SCHPA strives to enrich the UTSC experience for any student who loves the game of hockey and wants to meet and socialize with like-minded individuals.
On Saturday March 10, the SCHPA invites 300 of their closest friends... namely our Students, Staff, Faculty, Alumni and Community friends to join them for an afternoon of hockey. “UTSC Day with the Toronto Marlies” is an event that focuses on student engagement through both a spectator opportunity and a unique participation opportunity. Our International Students are the focus of this event, however, all members of the UTSC community are encouraged to attend.
The day will begin at 1:30pm with a UTSC social event staged in “Marlies alley” at the Ricoh Coliseum. Next, (3:00 pm puck drop) is an American Hockey League game involving the Toronto Marlies and the Hamilton Bulldogs. The day winds up with a one hour “on ice” opportunity as the SCHPA have arranged for UTSC participants to skate on the Ricoh Coliseum ice. Skate rental will be available for our International Students. Alumni are encouraged to bring their children.
Athletics and Recreation is most proud of the SCHPA’s initiative in creating this event. We hope that you will be able to join the SCHPA executive for a day of fun and celebration of UTSC spirit.
Tickets are available @ the Recreation Centre Service Counter @ the SCAA office or through the SCHPA.
