UTSC visits the Nation’s Capital
On February 6th, 2012, the University of Toronto Scarborough headed to Ottawa and held an alumni event at Play Food and Wine, a restaurant in the bustling region of city’s Byward Market. UTSC hosted a dinner for a large group of alumni who were eager to reconnect and to meet other alumni living in the greater Ottawa area. There was a sizable group ranging from young alumni, to a more mature base with a good representation of international development studies graduates (IDS) some of whom are movers and shakers in the development scene.
Georgette Zinaty, Executive Director, Development and Alumni Relations said “I love updating our alumni on the tremendous changes that have happened on this campus over the years and that happen on a daily basis! The campus has transformed and become an amazing intellectual and cultural hub. I invite all of our alumni to come visit and see for themselves not just the physical transformation but also the outstanding programs and offering we have at this campus. One of the goals of the Development and Alumni Relations department is to bridge the gap, reconnect relationships and reinstate place of pride with UTSC. These regional events allow us to bring UTSC home to our alumni and friends – no matter where home is!”.
The Development and Alumni Relations office continues to broaden its outreach and is planning future visits to areas with a high concentration of UTSC alumni. If you would like to see UTSC come to your city, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org and the Development and Alumni Relations office will try and find a way to bring the campus back to you.Article categories:
