Taking a bite of the Big Apple

The University of Toronto Scarborough ventured south of the border on a mission.  Our program Hire Power organized for recent graduates with our colleagues in Academic Advising won gold at the recent Council for the Advancement of Secondary Education conference in New York.  In fact, as a whole, the University of Toronto won a total of 10 awards the same evening! In addition to celebrating this tremendous recognition, UTSC held an alumni event in the heart of Times Square on January 21, 2012.  The event was a great networking event and an opportunity for UTSC alumni to meet fellow graduates living in the area.  In addition to business card exchanges there were many wonderful stories and laughter shared. “What I find fascinating is learning about the diverse paths our alumni have gone on to and the sense of pride one feels in sharing in their success.  It is a testament to the amazing education UTSC provides and the excellent quality of our graduates” said Georgette Zinaty, host and Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations at UTSC.

If you are an alum living in New York and were not able to attend, UTSC plans to make annual visits to reconnect and share the exciting initiatives happening on campus.
